Voluntary Assisted Dying
Lutheran Aged Care Albury respects the rights of residents to access information about Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD) in accordance with NSW legislation. While VAD is legally available in New South Wales, Lutheran Aged Care does not provide or participate in VAD services due to its alignment with the values and teachings of the Lutheran Church of Australia.
Residents who inquire about VAD will be supported with access to appropriate information and referral pathways, and their choices will be respected. Staff are not permitted to initiate conversations about VAD but will respond appropriately to requests by referring them to management and relevant healthcare providers.
