These terms are generally outdated terms used to describe residential aged care. Residential aged care has a much broader scope of services and care than “care or nursing homes” previous offered.

Our Dellacourt, Yallaroo and Emily Gardens facilities are designed to support residents living with dementia through our memory support units. All programs provide respect, dignity and inclusion while maintaining care that is current and in line with resident needs and wishes. Throughout Lutheran Aged Care we employ staff educated in dementia care and a specialist pastoral care team to better understand the needs of people living with dementia to deliver care in the ways that best support them and their families.

Lutheran Aged Care’s services vary and are tailored according to the individual needs of each resident. For all residents however, the following are provided:

  • Assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, showering, dressing and mobility
  • 24/7 clinical support
  • Assistance with medications and complex clinical care
  • Meals, refreshments and specific dietary needs and preferences
  • Basic furnishings including curtains, chairs, beds, bed linen, bath towels, toiletries
  • Laundry service, cleaning service and maintenance of buildings and grounds
  • Extensive, tailor-made social activities.
